About
The idea for Yonca came to life after I started frequently attending children’s birthday parties with my son. Each time, I was struck by the amount of wasted gift-wrapping paper that ended up in the trash after all the presents were opened. The sight of so much single-use paper being discarded made me wonder if there was a more thoughtful and sustainable way to celebrate special moments and I began rethinking the use of single-use paper for all gift-giving occasions. That’s when I discovered the beauty of furoshiki, the traditional Japanese art of reusable fabric gift wrapping – which is more than a method of wrapping; it’s a meaningful expression of care and respect, symbolizing the thoughtfulness of a gift that endures beyond the moment.
Inspired by this tradition, I began to dream of creating an alternative that was practical, meaningful, and aligned with my own values. Yonca brings together furoshiki inspiration with quality materials from my heritage. As a Turkish woman, I take pride in using 100% Turkish cotton for all our bags and fabric wraps, celebrating the rich textile craftsmanship of Turkey. Each piece is carefully crafted to be reused and cherished, not just for one occasion but again and again, helping to reduce waste and bring thoughtfulness to every gift exchange.
At Yonca, we believe in honoring both tradition and the earth. Our mission is to make every gift-giving occasion a little greener, blending elegance with eco-conscious choices. Inspired by the timeless art of fabric wrapping, we offer an array of reusable cloth wraps and ready-made gift-wrapping options that transform any gift into a special experience. In addition to our versatile fabric wraps, we offer a curated selection of accessories, like felt flowers, clovers, stickers and gift tags. The accessories will add a personalized touch to your wrapping. As our collection grows, you’ll find more ways to make every package as unique as the thought behind it.
Perfect for birthday, holidays and any other special gift-giving occasion, join us in reimagining how we wrap and let’s celebrate with purpose.
